Not yet. Invest America Accounts, also called Trump Accounts, are not open as of today.
The official launch date is July 5, 2026. That's when the U.S. Treasury will open the portal at trumpaccounts.gov and begin accepting applications.
What's Already Done
The law creating Trump Accounts has been signed. The One Big Beautiful Bill Act was passed by Congress and signed in 2025. That means the program is real, funded, and coming. The accounts just aren't open yet.
You can read the full breakdown of how Trump Accounts work so you're ready when they are.
What You Should Do Right Now
Even though accounts don't open until July, there's a time-sensitive step for parents of children born between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2028.
Those children are eligible for a $1,000 government seed contribution. To claim it, you need to file IRS Form 4547 with your 2025 tax return by April 15, 2026.
That deadline is now. April 15, 2026.
Download IRS Form 4547 and file it with your taxes. The $1,000 doesn't arrive until July when accounts open, but the form is what locks in eligibility.
What If I Miss April 15?
You can still open a Trump Account after July 5 through the government portal. You may still be able to claim the seed contribution, but the April 15 deadline via your tax return is the primary window.
If you're not sure whether your child qualifies, take the quick quiz at investamericaquiz.com. It takes 30 seconds.
Who Can Open an Account?
Any U.S. child under 18 with a Social Security Number is eligible for a Trump Account. The $1,000 seed is specifically for children born 2025 through 2028. Children born before 2025 can still open an account, they just don't receive the seed. See how much your child could receive over time.
What About Grifin?
Grifin is not affiliated with the government program. We're a private investing app that helps families understand the Invest America program and prepare for it. The Invest America landing page has more context on where Grifin fits in.
When accounts open and financial institutions are allowed to hold them, Grifin will offer a rollover option. For now, we help with education and eligibility.
Take the 30-second quiz at investamericaquiz.com to see what your child qualifies for.
